TT Win Tuners Shootout!
|
|
|

Tango Tuners DOA KappaTango won the 1st FM3 Tuners Shootout. The challenge was to tune an E class car specifically for Catalunya National Circuit, with Dougyt40 to run 5 laps in each car, best posted posted counted. 35 tuners enteredthe competition on th Forza Motorsport.net forums – the results were posted on the 5th December over at www.forzacarreviews.com
To celebrate winning Dougyt40’s 1st FM shootout, I have provided the winning tune, with its paint FREE on my SF.
I went for FWD, a decision I did not take lightly as I knew the AWD cars would probably have the edge – but she held out and did me proud.
I worked hard on the springs, to ensure that the car was easy to drive and allow the driver to get straight into setting laptimes, without needing to “learn” the car too much. FWD mainly suffer off the line, but as this was essentially a hotlap challenge, Lap 1 was not an issue for me in terms of a slow laptime.
Congratulations to all who entered – the competition was REALLY tough, with a virtual handkerchief covering the top times.
Hope you enjoy the car!

Review: SabreTooth Success!
|
|
|

xOucnx Avenger tested the SabreTooth, Read what he said about this amazing car!
Sunday morning, was like any other Sunday morning for me, stay in bed just that little bit longer, eat cereals, shower, get dressed, brush teeth and so on, you get the picture. However, little did I know that the guys at Tango Tuners had delivered a nice little surprise, well I say little, but actually it was a rather large surprise. It came in form of an SUV adorned with a livery which simply blew me away. I duly took it for a test drive and suddenly my ordinary Sunday morning was turned into a very extraordinary Sunday morning, but was it for the right reasons?
How does it look?
Absolutely brilliant! Without a doubt this has to be the best paint I have seen so far. DOA Liquid has pulled out all the stops on this project and it has paid off big time. He has turned a huge, ungainly vehicle into a thing of beauty and as a result the Cayenne looks superb from every angle.
What’s the performance like?
DOA KappaTango really has worked wonders with this SUV tune, turning the mediocre standard Porsche Cayenne, into a definite B Class winner. The Cayenne has seen a staggering increase of over 100bhp, taking the total bhp to a whopping 659! There has also been a noticeable torque increase, with the Porsche now possessing 578lb ft of torque. It’s not all good though, as Tango Tuners seem to have ignored the fact that the Cayenne needed to go on a diet and increased the weight to a hefty 5,230lbs. Amazingly, the increase in weight seems to have had no impact whatsoever on straight line performance and at full throttle the Cayenne is at its best. Although Tango Tuners claim that the ‘Sabertooth’ is not a leader board car, I managed to easily stick it in the top 1 per cent at most tracks. But the track which really seemed to play to the Cayenne’s strengths had to be Silverstone, in all three track configurations this SUV excelled. Clearly the large number of high speed corners and fairly long straights played right into the hands of the Cayenne. Granted, it’s not going to come top of any leader boards, but for an SUV the performance is mightily impressive.
How does it handle?
In the fast, sweeping corners the Cayenne is in its element, taking them in its stride. However in the slower stuff the Porsche does come a little unstuck and unsurprisingly really, because the weight of it takes its toll. Under heavy breaking you can feel the Cayenne struggling to slow down, tyres clawing at the race track, begging to slow down. As a result of this you find yourself sliding helplessly past the apex, time and time again. However, do not be alarmed, this is by no means the end of the world. All it takes is a slight adaptation in driving style. You can’t just slam on the brakes; you’ve got to wipe the speed of gently and calmly, allowing yourself to ease the Cayenne into a corner. Once you have wiped off enough speed the front end suddenly bites a lot more than it usual. It not longer has to worry about slowing down, that part’s done and it just pulls round nicely. Nevertheless this will cost you time up against other B Class cars, but the second you get on the throttle, you will be untouchable. Let rip down the straights and gain all your lap time there.
Would you feel cool pulling up to start line in it?
Normally, pulling up in an SUV would result in numerous sniggers over the microphone, but with the ‘Sabertooth’ this is certainly not the case. The paint alone silences the sceptics before the race has even begun. Once you hit the straights and rev the pants off the beast, not only do you further silence the sceptics, but you also put miles of track between yourself and them. With the ‘Sabertooth’ racing an SUV just got super cool.
Is it worth spending your hard earned credits on?
If you are looking for an SUV paint/tune combo and you don’t go for this then you probably need to seek medical advice. This really is a no brainer, as long as you don’t mind being the hate figure of online rooms as you drive effortlessly away from everyone down the straights.
FINAL VERDICT
Once again Tango Tuners have attempted to break the laws of physics, or at least the laws of Forza, and turn an SUV into an online dominating, leader board smashing, strangely beautiful, winning machine. Tango Tuner’s ‘Bulldog’ B Class Mercedes SUV certainly proved it was possible despite its hilarious, not to mention dangerous tendency to tip over. This time however, it certainly seems as though Tango Tuners have learnt from their mistakes with Porsche’s all-wheel-drive SUV, the Cayenne. Virtually every aspect as been improved upon second time around, in the SUV tuning department. Tango Tuners really have nailed it this time. Everyone needs an SUV in their Forza garage and the Sabertooth is the one to have.

Happy Thanksgiving from Turn 10 Studios!

|
Comin’ at you with a quick studio update before we take off to enjoy the Thanksgiving long weekend. We’ve been moving quickly to get a few things wrapped up this week, and I’ve been busy working on a new video for our Hot Holidays car pack. Che’s hinted at our next installment of Downloadable Content (DLC). Every car is a heavy hitter folks! The Hot Holidays car pack will be available for download on December 8th, but check back soon for the official video and car list.
The rest of us here at Turn 10 have been crunching away on our second title update that will hit an Xbox 360 near you later this evening. Besides what you see below we’ve also patched a few holes to maintain equilibrium in our online economy…something we take very seriously.
This new title update contains:
-
Fixes to all known glitches.
-
The addition of cockpit view driver shift animations.
New title update aside we’ve also updated our Matchmaking list with some new additions you’ll want to check out this long weekend. The major addition you’ll notice is our all-new “Playground” category that will be used to host alternative game types like tag, and more restrictive racing such as our “A Class Expert” hopper that is currently live. For tag we’ve added an A Class “Keep the IT” game type where the winner is the person who’s been “IT” the longest after 5 minutes. Expect to see this section in flux more often than our other general categories. Have a look!
Our lucky LCE owners got another special treat as we’ve sent out the latest VIP car earlier today. Check the in-game message center to receive your copy of the Halo Waypoint Lambo (shown above), painted by community MVP “m0dus”!
And finally…Happy Thanksgiving from all of us here at Turn 10 Studios!
Peace
Landin

Iberian Project gets Noticed!
|
|
|
Imagine my surprise to see the Iberian Project headlined on the Forza Forums in a Review.
Recognised reviewer from FM2, dougyt40 is continuing his search for cars in FM3 and came across the Iberian Project Free Tune.
In the final verdict, Doiug summarises: “The tune is very planted and has plenty of acceleration and speed. If you are running the designated Iberian tracks then Tango Tuners have you covered”

Tango Tuners Present: The Iberian Project, FREE TUNE
Welcome to the release of the TangoTuners Iberian Project.
I wanted to create a single car whihc would perform on all ribbons of the Iberian Circuit. With the Full track running pretty fast, down to the Mini circuit being a twisty challenge, I figured the task was worth taking on.
As this was just a project for my own satisfaction, I never invisiged selling the car, so I am offering it on my SF as a Free Tune and Paint. The car sports a Track outline of Iberian International Circuit.
So, here are the Stats
Full: 56.488 #41 / 89,000+
Short: 45.145 # 35 / 36,000+
Mini: 32.849 #44 / 30,000+
Full Reverse: 56.483 #20 / 19,000+
I am yet to race the last 2 mini and short reverse, but will do tonight. Performance on the first 4 ribbons assure me It will do well.

I haven’t yet tried the car on any other Circuit, so it may well perform outside of the Iberian Borders! I will again run some laps once I have tested on the remaining Reverse Ribbons.
Car will be available from tonight on my SF, keywords: Tango, Tuners, Iberian, Project, KappaTango, Free Tune
Feedback very welcome.

All Pics from Multiplayer B Class Hoppers

Tango Tuners have been working on this car for some time, and Friday night the job was completed. We hit the MP lobbies to celebrate the B class Hoppers and were impressed from the get go.
PzR mushman: My money is on the Merc 63 AMG! But not in B class cuz they were well beaten last night in multi
PzR Mushman was in the first lobby we played, and Mugello was the track. From the off we stormed into the lead, with me holding first place until the off camber turn onto the Back section of the circuit – and I rolled.
Dissappointed, but not disheartened, I got back up and hit the road – I managed to get back up into 4th place AND took 2nd fastest lap of the lobby. I knew some more work had to be done, and it was the first Time I had run the car around Mugello.
I know the PzR guys are fast, and this project was never to create a LB car, but a competitive one – that said, the stats below prove this already is a TOP 1% tune.

The rest of the night was a different story, and with fine tuned Suspension and Gearing, The victories were coming one after another. Tsukuba, Iberian Full, Twin Motegi, Road America, Laguna Seca.
Beating all car types, including Scoobies, Evo’s, Audis Porsche and Ferrari. All tuned to top of class as well, with driver levels no lower than 22 and as High as 35.

OK. MP was a blast – the reaction from the lobby players when they get beaten by a GRIP tuned SUV is immense.
PLEASE NOTE: You will need to very slighty adjust your lines when the higher rumbles are involved, but this is VERY minor and did not affect my online performace. I reccommend you run the car a few laps around, say Iberian, to get the feel – just because of the weight of the car. Despite the TUNE, it is still and SUV [:)]
Everyone who has driven gets faster each lap as you realise the Grip this car has – and it is the FASTEST B CLass I have seen off the line.

Car is now on the SF with TUNE AND PAINT 10K each,
Base Car Price 85k, Parts ~ 40k
KEYWORDS: Tango, Tuners, Bulldog, KappaTango,
Excellent Paint from Liquid and props to part time TT member DP Willy for his help on gearing and Springs.

Believe in the Car and enjoy the reaction online!
